Your Visit
At Southern Crescent Animal Emergency Clinic (SCAEC) we do not schedule appointments and all pets are cared for on a first-come-first-served basis depending on the severity of the illness or injury.
In order to expedite your visit, you may want to download patient forms beforehand, or call to let us know what is going on with your pet, however, neither is necessary. If you have an after-hours veterinary need, feel free to come right in.
When you arrive, you will check in, fill out or hand in necessary paperwork, and we will assess your pet to determine the best method(s) of treatment.
- Assessment: We can immediately determine if your pet requires triage (for life-threatening emergencies), quarantine (for parvo virus and other highly contagious diseases) or further diagnostics. Our facility has several exam rooms, one of which is a quarantine room if we suspect a contagious disease. We also have an all-digital x-ray technology which enables us to view images immediately. Our in-house lab allows us to obtain blood, urine and fecal results quickly as well.
- Estimate: Once we assess your pet’s health needs, we provide you with a cost estimate based on diagnostic and treatment services. Payment is required at the time of service.
- Treatment: Our goal is to stabilize your pet and transition follow-up care to your regular veterinarian. While your pet is with us, we will provide ongoing communication with you to inform you of your pet’s progress and empower you to make informed decisions about the care of your pet.
